Simple Way of Getting yourself Voter ID Card in India really fast (I have done it for Bangalore)

Step1: Register a jagore.com and login using the registered ID this is the easiest method of finding your ward and assembly constituency.

Step2: use this link http://jaagore.com/faq.html#2 or this is also available under all about voting tab.

Step3: FAQ 2 asks the city name then Opens a MAP or
"http://app.mapmyindia.com/onebillionvotes/searchCity.do?resistate=Karnataka&resicity=Bangalore&resiadd=Bangalore&q=result" use this link and locate your house "right Click" to mark your location

Step4: upon right click on the right hand corner all the details will come please note them down cause fellow at the submission counter can ask some of these while submitting the form 6.

Step5: Download Form 6(for inclusion in Voter Id list) from this link "http://www.eci.gov.in/forms/form6.pdf".

you need two proofs along with the form one is Date of birth(DOB) and other is address proof.
DOB accepted(list may not be complete)
1. PAN card
2. 10th class mark sheet with DOB mentioned on it
3. driving license.
4. passport

Address Proof:
1. Water bill/electricity bill/Telephone bill under your name (mobiles I'm not sure)
2. Company HR letter( better avoid as govt officers can be moody)
3. Driving license with current address mentioned.
4. Govt Bank pass book with address mentioned.(this one worked for me!)
5. passport with current address.

rest is luck!


Step6: Fill in common details and keep 3-4 copies as there are chances you fill it wrong and again face the long queue. other reason being forms at the office are primarily in Kannada which may not be understood by you.

* Note: please do take a photocopy of duly filled form cause at some ERO's they need both original and photocopy

Step7: Reach the ERO office (mentioned in the details in step 4) between
8am-12am or 4pm - 8pm (all week days except Monday which is a holiday)
8am-8pm (on Sundays)
these timings are for Bangalore
others can call for timings (yes they do pick up the phone)

Step8: on submitting keep the acknowledgment handy and visit the ERO office after 10-15 days and get your name checked on their Data Base.

Step9: If the name is found in the list 99% prob is solved just get Photographed and your voter ID will be issued to you there and then. else you have to come again :(
